Survey:  Family and friends influence financial decisions

Slovaks are mainly influenced by family and friends when managing their money, according to a survey carried out on behalf of Slovenská sporiteľňa bank. Only 22 percent of Slovaks think they know best how to handle their own money while almost half of the respondents said they listen to the advice of family and friends, and a third rely on banks. Three quarters of the people who are willing to invest feel well informed about the risks involved in trading stock shares and bonds. Approximately 13 percent of Slovaks are very inclined to take the risk of investing, while 65 percent of Slovaks are more conservative.
