The Parliamentary opposition party Freedom and Solidarity is open to forming a coalition for the General election, which is to take place in February 2020. Until this recent development party leader Richard Sulík had refused this option, accepting it for the first time only on Sunday at a gathering marking the 30th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution. According to Sulík, the party is ready to discuss this option with other opposition parties including the Together-Progressive Slovakia coalition, and the parties For the People and Ordinary people. Recent opinion polls indicate that Freedom and Solidarity would earn only a little over the 5% needed for the party to make it into the Parliament.
