The number of middle management jobs in Slovakia's automotive industry has been declining since the beginning of this year, according to the results of an extensive survey of salaries conducted in the second quarter of this year that has been published by the Grafton Recruitment agency. Quality engineers, process engineers and employees in managerial posts have started looking for alternative work more actively, because of reductions in the automotive sector. On the other hand, there has been no major change when it comes to blue-collar workers. Skilled locksmiths, welders, metalworkers, electricians, warehouse workers and forklift drivers all remain high in demand. The trend of importing labour from abroad persists. The most numerous group of foreigners is made up of Romanians, with more than 7,000 of them working in Slovakia last year. The second and third most numerous groups were made up of Serbs and Czechs, respectively.
