Fitch: Slovakia keeps A+ rating

Fitch Ratings agency confirmed Slovakia's rating A+ with a stable outlook. The agency listed a stable inflow of foreign investment, favorable foreign debt structure and the country's institutional strength as the main reasons for the positive evaluation. The well-capitalized and liquid banking sector was also a positive factor. On the other hand, Slovakia's weaknesses are its strong dependence on automotive industry, and the stagnant outlook of German economic growth - the country's strategic partner. Fitch also mentioned the main short-term risks for the Slovak automotive industry - connection to the German supply chains, Brexit and the pro-export policy of USA. Nevertheless, the agency sees these risks as manageable for the Slovak automotive industry.
