The Bratislava Public Transport Company (DPB) has announced a tender worth €1.15 million for surveillance cameras to be installed in all buses and trams in Bratislava. This in response to an act of aggression against a couple aged over 50, which took place in a bus without a camera in May. Following the incident, the city authority, which fully owns the transport company, declared that security forces needed to have a visual connection with vehicles that have become the scenes of emergency situations. The city authority also indicated that, in co-operation with state police and city police, it will revise the rules of conduct for drivers in security incidents, and it will also attempt to devise ways for members of the public to be able to call a patrol without potentially exposing themselves to direct aggression.
