Slovaks living abroad to vote by mail

Slovaks living abroad will be able to vote in the 2020 general election by mail, but they will have to apply for this via a form available on the Interior Ministry's website. The general election in Slovakia will take place on February 29. If the application is complete, no later than 35 days before election day the voter should receive an officially stamped envelope, ballot papers and a return envelope marked 'ELECTION BY MAIL' with the prescribed addresses and instructions on how to vote. The ministry or municipality must receive the envelope no later than on February 28, 2020. A web application offered by the NGO 'Home Is Where the Heart Is' should make it easier for Slovaks to vote by mail from abroad. The NGO cooperated with the Interior Ministry to create the app.
