Czech and Slovak cabinets to commemorate Velvet Revolution together

The Czech and Slovak Cabinets will hold a joint session at Valtice Castle in the Czech Republic near the Slovak border on November 11 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution. This historic act brought down the Soviet-sponsored Communist regime in the-then Czechoslovakia. The session, initiated from the Czech side, will be the seventh joint meeting of the Cabinets of the two countries - all in recent years - which split in 1993. The two Governments are due to discuss some joint projects initiated recently, economic cooperation, cross-border contacts, energy security, transport infrastructure, and internal security and defence.
