MP Peter Kresák will leave the caucus of the junior coalition party Most-Híd as of November 1. He cites the cooperation between Most-Híd and other parties as the reason. Lately, Most-Híd has held talks with several ethnic-Hungarian parties on election cooperation, including the non-parliamentary SMK, which has been accused of being financed from abroad. Meanwhile their deal fell through. "The timing of Peter Kresák's departure is no surprise. It indicates the lawmaker's intent to join other political tourists who had previously "landed" in this party," said Most-Híd's spokeswoman Klára Magdeme, alluding to Martin Fedor and Katarina Cséfalvayová, who recently left to join the fledgling Good Choice party. Moreover, Justice Minister Gábor Gál, also of the Most-Híd party, announced on Wednesday that he would not feature on the party's slate in the general election due in four months. "There are many reasons, both political and non-political," he said after the regular Cabinet session. Gál, however, is not leaving the party, but he plans to continue to work with it at an expert level.
