U.S. Embassy on the Velvet Revolution anniversary

The US Embassy in Slovakia will celebrate the freedom brought by the 1989 Velvet Revolution with a key-ringing campaign, recalling one of the most memorable features of the 1989 mass protests. "It's important to celebrate and recall what Slovakia achieved in 1989 and what we still can achieve together by sharing our courage to be free," said Ambassador Bridget Brink. Ambassador Brink, who assumed post in Slovakia this summer, has been meeting in the past days with the representatives of the Slovak political scene. On Tuesday, at her meeting with the deputy Foreign minister František Ružička, topics such as cyber security and strategic communication were discussed. Both partners positively evaluated mutual bilateral relations, which are perceived as dynamic and above standard.
