Material need assistance to be increased by 2.5 %

Material need assistance and its supplements are to be increased by 2.5 % from the beginning of next year. The percentage increase in the amount of these benefits corresponds with the percentage increase in basic living conditions defined as one warm meal a day and the necessary clothing and shelter. Material need assistance for an individual should increase by 1.60 Euro and for an individual with one to four children by 3.10 Euro, which would provide them with 66.30 Euro and 126.20 Euro a month, respectively. „In average, around 68,000 beneficiaries will benefit from the increase in material need assistance in 2020," the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family informed. This increase, however, would cost Slovakia 181.3 thousand euro.
