Automotive News Europe alleges this with reference to unnamed sources from its sister magazine Automobilwoche. Slovakia could obtain the new production of the VW Passat instead of the planned new factory in Turkey. A discussion within the Volkswagen group on this topic should take place in the coming days. The automaker has suspended the project during escalating international criticism of Turkish military operations in northern Syria. The VW factory in Bratislava declined to comment on this information.
