Japanese imperial family invited to visit Slovakia

On Monday, Slovak President Zuzana Čaputová invited a member of the Japanese imperial family to visit Slovakia to mark 100 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The Slovak President is currently visiting Japan for the coronation of the new Japanese Emperor Naruhito, which will take place on Tuesday, October 22. During her stay, Čaputová already met Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. They discussed bilateral relations, economic cooperation and challenges and innovations in the field of environmental protection. In 1920, Japan was the first Asian country to establish diplomatic relations with the former Czechoslovakia. There are more than 60 Japanese companies in Slovakia, employing approximately 13,000 people. Conversely, Slovak security software company Eset invests in Japan.
