Bratislava to get its first-ever skyscraper

The Construction Office in the Bratislava borough of Ružinov has issued a building permit for the Eurovea II project. This is a complex of buildings which are supposed to feature the first-ever skyscraper in Bratislava on the left bank of the Danube River. Slovakia defines skyscraper as a building taller than 150 metres. The current tallest edifice is the Slovak Central Bank HQ with a height of 111.6 metres, whereas Eurovea Tower is projected to tower at 168 metres. According to the Ružinov mayor, Martin Chren, the key issue to tackle is transport and this applies to the entire Mlynske Nivy area, where construction works of large extent are taking place.
