A strike alert is likely to be announced at Jaguar Land Rover in Nitra, according to local trade union leader Peter Mrazik. He explained that this is due to the fact that collective bargaining has been unsuccessful. The trade union is demanding a transformation of the wage system into wage brackets and a 15% wage increase, including a change in production bonus rules. At the same time, they want to fight for wage benefits beyond what is required by law for overtime work, risk work, and work on weekends and holidays. Representatives of employees and management held talks last week, and now the trade union wants to initiate another meeting. The trade union chief declined to comment on whether a strike would actually occur.
