Labor Ministry: Salaries at labor offices too low

The situation regarding the salaries of workers in labor offices is not satisfactory, said a spokesperson of the Labor Ministry, Michal Stuška, in reaction to criticism voiced on the topic by the Slovak Supreme Audit Office. "The average monthly salary at the labor offices has risen by €263 in the last seven years", said Stuška adding that in spite of the increases, salaries are not high enough. "Even though most of the workers at the labor offices have a university education, the average salary stands at approximately €800. The Supreme Audit Office evaluates it as a non-negligible risk factor, which endangers the expertise, quality and personnel stability of one of the major state institutions.
