Migrants found in truck trailer on Austrian border

Police officers found illegal migrants in a truck trailer at the Slovak-Austrian border crossing Jarovce-Kittsee on Thursday. A Belarusian truck driver, who heard beating from his sealed trailer, addressed a mixed patrol of Slovak and Austrian police officers at the border crossing point. "After checking and opening the trailer with the help of customs officers, the police found out that there were indeed four foreigners in the trailer, probably from Afghanistan," said the police. The men were then handed over to the foreign police, which will continue to deal with their illegal stay. Three illegal migrants from Afghanistan were also discovered on Thursday morning during unloading of a truck belonging to a Žilina-based company. "The truck driver said he was unaware of their presence," said police. The police national unit to combat illegal migration and a mobile unit arrived at the site later to deal with the illegal stay of the foreigners.
