Economy Minister Peter Žiga (Smer-SD) has stated that there is a constructive dimension to the ongoing discussion on gas flows between Russia, Ukraine and the EU. Žiga was speaking to the press after the Government's session on Wednesday. He made the statement in response to a journalistic question as to where the talks stand on post-2020 gas flows from Russia via Ukraine, after the visit of a Slovak delegation to Russia last week. Žiga led the Slovak delegation at the Slovak-Russian talks held in Sochi, meeting with the Russian minister of industry and trade, Denis Manturov. "I'm confident that gas flows won't be in jeopardy," stressed Žiga, "and that the gas will continue to be supplied after January 1, as in previous years. But, of course, we're prepared for all scenarios," he added.
