Slovakia ended up ninth worst in Global Waste Index

Slovakia ended up ninth worst in the Global Waste Index that evaluates 36 OECD countries in terms of the environmental impacts of their waste management. The Sensoneo company that created the index reported that the last place went to Turkey, preceded by Latvia and New Zealand. According to the waste index, South Korea, Sweden and Japan have the best waste management. Slovakia received a relatively good ranking in the amount of waste produced, where it was the sixth best. However, its final poor rating was due to the fifth lowest recycling rate among all OECD countries and the 14th worst landfill rate.
