According to UN Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs Miroslav Jenča, Zuzana Čaputová's speech at the UN Climate Change Summit caught the attention of several UN representatives and participants in the event. Jenča added that Čaputová has some "moral weight" in this regard in the UN as she was dealing with environmental issues before she became president.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres praised Slovakia's approach to climate change as the region's pacesetter. On Wednesday, he reiterated this to the Slovak President Zuzana Čaputová at their meeting in New York. In addition, Čaputová met UN General Assembly President Tijjani Muhammad-Bande.
