Slovakia is among those EU-member countries requesting that the European Council address the question of the Union's enlargement to the Western Balkans at its session in October, said Deputy Slovak Foreign Affairs Minister František Ružička on Monday. He explained that the enlargement policy to include the Western Balkans needs to be perceived as a political, security and economic commitment. "We don't want to stop being a player in this region, which belongs to Europe," he added.
