National crime agency fails to detect corruption

The National Crime Agency (NAKA) fails in the early stages of detecting corruption, reads the Special Prosecutor's report on the activities of the Special Prosecutor's Office (USP), as well as their findings on the state of lawfulness for 2018, it was reported on Tuesday. The report further states that this is mainly due to the failure of the police's analytical unit, which is tasked with preparing analyses of financial flows or personal and property links between suspects in initial stages before prosecution. This should give the unit a basic overview of whether a particular suspicious transaction could have benefited a person who exercised influence over a decision involving the handling of public resources.
