Government approves National Anti-Corruption draft

A more effective fight against corruption in Slovakia will not be possible without the application of stricter sanctions affecting the proceeds of crime. It is also necessary to conduct a comprehensive financial investigation into the property situation of suspects. This was pointed out by the petitioners of the National Anti-Corruption Program (NPKP) of the Slovak Republic, which was approved by the government on Wednesday. The programme formulates 15 objectives and corresponding measures to contribute to reducing the level of corruption in public administration. Ahead of the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini denied that the timing of the draft is connected with the upcoming elections.
