The State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lukáš Parízek, was in Minsk on Tuesday and Wednesday this week attending the International Conference on the fight against terrorism. The conference, held under the aegis of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, focused on topics such as radicalization within the online space, artificial intelligence, hacking activities, autonomous weapons and the cross-border movement of terrorists. Discussions and presentations of participants mapped phenomena and experiences ranging from the misuse of technologies to their proactive use in the fight against terrorism. "An important feature of contemporary terrorism is its high capacity for adaptation and technology," stated Parízek, adding "No country is immune to terrorism." At the conference Parízek met with Vladimir Voronkov, the first Under-Secretary for the new United Nations Counter-Terrorism Office.
