Monika Jankovska's resignation from the post of Deputy Justice Minister is not enough, non-parliamentary parties Progressive Slovakia (PS)/Together and Andrej Kiska's new party For the People, stated on Tuesday. They claim that Jankovská definitely should not serve as judge and that Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini (Smer-SD) should also leave his post. PS/Together stated that a whole generation of politicians linked to entrepreneur Marian K. must be replaced. In reaction to Monika Jankovska's imminent resignation, Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini (Smer-SD) noted that he appreciates that Jankovská made this decision, reiterating that rulings have to be made by courts and investigations have to be carried out by law-enforcement agencies. He also suggested that opposition MPs follow her example, such as OĽaNO head Igor Matovič and Freedom and Solidarity leader Richard Sulík, as in the past they have also held meetings with controversial businessman Marian Kočner. The opposition OĽaNO party has announced that despite Jankovská's resignation, the prime minister will still face a no-confidence motion in Parliament on Friday.
