Blockchain Centre of Excellence to be established in Bratislava

An Excellence Centre that could contribute to the technological revolution will be set up in Slovakia as a result of international cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries in the field of blockchain. The centre will be based both in Bratislava and Beijing. A special centre for research and innovation in connection with blockchain should be opened in Bratislava in a couple of weeks. According to Matej Michalko, general director of a company called Decent that participated in the negotiations, it is "a huge success and an expression of trust that the Excellence Centre will be built right here in Slovakia." Some 50 members from Europe and China have already shown interest in the centre, he added. Blockchain is a method of administering a register among subscribers without dependence on third parties, making it easier for customers to carry out financial transactions.
