American scientist Mark Hillery, an expert in the field of theoretical quantum optics and quantum information theory, was presented with the International Prize of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAV) in Bratislava on Tuesday. Hillery has published more than 200 publications and has 15,000 citations. "Professor Hillery has been awarded the prize because of his long-term collaboration with Professor Vladimír Bužek of the Academy's Institute of Physics. They're currently working together in the area of quantum informatics. Hillery has been cooperating with the Academy's Institute of Physics since 1993. The Academy awards the SAV International Prize every year.
