The process of applying for temporary residence in the territory of the Slovak Republic at Foreign Police departments will soon take half the time it takes today. Interior Minister Denisa Saková said this at the opening of the restored Foreign Police department in Žilina, in northern Slovakia, on Monday. She was discussing the new system for processing applications which is expected to shorten the administration period by 50%. "We will give our attention to this new system throughout Slovakia," promised the Interior Minister, adding that the Foreign Police currently has 12 locations in the country, with a 13th opening soon in Ružomberok, in northern Slovakia. The director of the Border and Foreign Police Office Ladislav Csémi informed that the number of applications for residence in Slovakia has increased by 30% each year for the past 2 years. The Office has launched an ordering system for foreigners which will soon be interactive. "The new system will diminish the flaws for which we have been criticised," said Csémi.
