The political party For the People, recently founded by ex-President Andrej Kiska, was officially registered as a political party at the Interior Ministry on Monday. The party has collected the 16,000 signatures required for registration and plans to hold its founding congress in late September. Kiska stated that the thousands of signatures represent a big commitment to the party, which wants to show that politics can be pursued in a different manner - professionally, politely and for the people. At least 10,000 signatures are required to register a party. More than 150 political parties and movements are registered in Slovakia.
