After five years, the footballers of Slovan Bratislava will play again in the group stage of the UEFA European League. After their Thursday 3-2 loss in the playoff at Thessaloniki, their 1-0 triumph ensured further progress. Slovan will play for the third time in the EL group stage. In August 2011 the team advanced through AS Roma after a 1-0 victory at home and a 1-0 draw. In the 2013/2014 season, the "whites" entered the group as a conquering team in the playoffs of the Champions League, when they were stopped by Belarusian champion Borisov. Their opponents in Monaco will be announced on Friday at 1pm. The first group matches will take place on Thursday, September 19.
