Microplastics were found in drinking water in the village of Rovinka near Bratislava, according to the civic association "Za našu vodu" (For our water) who did the analysis. The microplastics are 75 micrometers in size, about eight particles per liter. "If we drink two liters of water a day, we get six thousand pieces of microplastics into the body a year. Although the World Health Organization claims that this level of microplastics in water does not pose a health risk, there is no reason to tolerate drinking them," said chemist Dušan Velič from the civic association . The results of this analysis will be forwarded to the Bratislava Water Company.
