The junior party of current governing coalition Most-Hid will not form a coalition with the ethnic-Hungarian SMK party for the 2020 general election, its leadership decided on Monday. SMK insisted that the composition of the potential joint slate for the 2020 general election should be fifty-fifty. This came up against Most-Hid's suggestion to compose the slate 70 to 30 percent in favour of Most. Recent opinion polls placed Most-Hid bellow the 5 percent threshold needed to make it to Parliament.
