The low-cost airline Ryanair will cancel all flights on the London Southend - Košice route in the upcoming 2019/2020 winter schedule, the Kosice airport announced on its website. The cancellation comes as a consequence of grounding the Boeing 737 MAX until further notice, due to the two fatal crashes of such aircraft models in October 2018 and March 2019. The last flight planned for the season is supposed to take off on October 26. "Passengers with tickets booked for after this date have the right to compensation and they must contact the airline operator directly," a press release published on the website said. Subsequently, the airport added that flights from Košice to London Luton would still be available, provided by the low-cost airline Wizz Air, seven times a week.
