Slovak President Zuzana Čaputová will lay flowers on the White Crosses memorial as a sign of respect for all those who perished attempting to cross the Berlin Wall, during her two day visit to Germany starting on Wednesday. The visit will take place on the occasion of the 51st anniversary of the Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia. The message of the fight for freedom will therefore be an important symbol of the trip. She will meet her counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Chancellor Angela Merkel. Germany has been Slovakia's main economic partner for the past two decades.
