Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Poland are all interested in helping Ukraine. Slovakia’s Foreign Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajčák and his Czech counterpart Lubomír Zaorálek agreed on this in Bratislava on Tuesday.
“Current help may also concern finances for the reconstruction of what was destroyed or in aid to the injured”, minister Zaorálek said. Furthermore, both ministers stressed that it is important that the Ukrainians find a compromise and elect a new government. “We need a partner whom we do not have at the moment”, said Lajčák. The ministers agreed however that a split within Ukraine is highly unlikely.
