“If we agree, we have to agree on everything, if we don’t, we will agree on nothing”, says Prime Minister Robert Fico, commenting on proposed constitutional amendments on marriage which are being pushed through by opposition parties as well as the ruling SMER-SD party.
The Prime Minister reiterated that the opposition should agree entirely with SMER-SD on one draft of constitutional law, which will include both changes in the judiciary and the protection of marriage. The proposed alterations to the Slovak constitution would make the marriage of two people of the same gender a constitutional violation.
