Pigs were slaughtered in the new centres of African swine fever virus located in Somotor and Rad, south eastern Slovakia. Due to the strict measures, breeders from 4 villages in the vicinity of the town of Trebišov are banned from continuing in their activities involving pigs. Registered farmers will be compensated for their losses. The Agriculture Ministry is considering compensating all breeders to avoid people being scared of co-operating with the State Veterinary and Food Administration.
