Record number of new companies in Slovakia in 2019

In the first half of 2019, entrepreneurs in Slovakia established 11,401 companies, representing the highest number in the last four years, an analysis of the Bisnode company indicates. Out of the entire number, 103 are joint stock companies and the remaining are limited liability companies. The growth is surprising, as data had indicated a stagnation of the market at the end of 2018, said Bisnode's analyst Petra Štěpánová, adding that the most significant indicator of the situation in the economy would be the numbers at the end of the year. At the end of June, 282,640 companies were operating their business in Slovakia. The highest numbers of new companies was recorded in the Bratislava region (2776) and the lowest in the Trenčín region (637).
