US producer Lockheed Martin acquired a commission worth more than €723 million to produce and support F-16 fighter jets for Slovakia, according to the US Department of Defense. Under the contract, Slovakia is to receive the delivery of fourteen F-16 jets by January 31, 2024. This largest ever-military purchase in the history of Slovakia as a NATO member, is designed to replace obsolete Russian MiG-29 fighters.
