The European Parliament has voiced its appreciation for the active involvement and assistance provided by Slovakia's public broadcaster Radio and Television Slovakia (RTVS) in promoting this year's European Parliament election, which took place at the end of May. The letter from European Parliament's spokesperson Jaume Duch Guillot notes the EU's appreciation for the higher voter turnout among Europeans, which stood at 51% of all EU citizens, the highest figure since 1994. Slovakia's election turnout was 22.47%, much higher than in 2014, when the country posted a turnout of 13%.
