Former journalist and ex-Slovak Intelligence chief Peter Tóth won't appear at Wednesday's court proceedings to testify in the case of the alleged counterfeiting of promissory notes involving controversial entrepreneur Marian Kočner, it was reported on the same day. Tóth - who has admitted in the past that he had murdered journalist Ján Kuciak under surveillance on behalf of Kočner, who has been charged with ordering the murder - stated that conditions in Slovakia would need to change, including security conditions, before he could provide his account of events in court. Tóth was supposed to provide his witness testimony at the Specialised Criminal Court in Pezinok on Wednesday, but Tóth's son informed the police that his father is abroad, and he doesn't know when he'll return.
