Slovakia's National Oncology Registry (NOR) is rated as one of the world's top cancer registries, according to the country's National Health Information Center (NCZI). It is classified in the highest A111 category, which includes cancer registries of countries such as Finland, Slovenia, the United Kingdom or Ireland. The task of the registry is to keep long-term records of cancer patients from the Slovak Republic, and to supplement the data with respect to internationally accepted classification systems. The registry also processes selected epidemiological and clinical data on cancer patients and data on deceased cancer patients. The National Oncology Registry has existed since 1976, and includes data for the years going back to 1968.
