The first four Slovak innovative diplomats left for the countries where supranational companies and international research and development institutions reside. These are in particular China, Finland, the USA and Israel. "From the geographical point of view, these countries represent markets with the best innovative eco-hubs that are piloting some attitudes to the development of co-operation in the field of innovations already today," said the Vice-premier for Investments and Informatisation Richard Raši (Smer-SD). The main task of the Slovak diplomatic mission is to increase the frequency of successful participation in international grant schemes, and to help place Slovak products on foreign markets, thus strengthening competitiveness in a global dimension. The role of the innovative diplomats will be to help Slovak research institutions, universities and entrepreneurs to launch co-operation with innovative environments abroad, as well as to support public-private partnerships.
