Three weeks ahead of the presidential elections, a poll by the Median agency gave Andrej Kiska a possible chance at a narrow victory in the battle against current Prime Minister Robert Fico already in the first round. Fico has been a clear favourite in surveys for the first round to date.
The survey commissioned by RTVS shows that the prime minister would garner 35.8% and Kiska 21.6%. The two candidates are followed by Radoslav Procházka and Milan Kňažko with some distance. Pavol Hrušovský slipped; he would get merely 3.4%. The rest of the candidates Milan Melník, Ján Čarnogurský, Helena Mezenská, Viliam Fischer, Gyula Bárdos, Jozef Behýl, Stanislav Martinčko, Ján Jurišta, Jozef Šimko would get less than three percent.
