New German employer struggling to find workers

On Tuesday, Rochling Automotive, a German components supplier for the automotive industry, opened a new plant near Nové Mesto nad Váhom, Trenčín region, bringing 80 new jobs. The investor's current plan is to employ some 120 people. If everything goes in line with plans, its ambition is to employ 240 people. However, according to its director Vladimír Lopušniak, the investor has a problem finding a qualified labour force, partly due to the very low unemployment rate in the district of Nové Mesto nad Váhom. The new hall's construction cost €12 million, while investments in technologies have consumed additional €10 million. The company has been granted a 10-year tax holiday from the state, starting last year.
