Slovakia supports von der Leyen's Idea of an EU minimum wage

Slovakia supports the creation of a European minimum wage, which forms part of the newly elected President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen's agenda, said the Slovak Labour Minister Jan Richter (Smer-SD). The new European Commission's President stated that "every person working full-time should gain at least the minimum wage, so that they can be guaranteed a decent life". Most probably the minimum wage will not be the same across the entire European Union. One of the proposals is that it would represent a proportion of a country's average wage, for example 60 percent. Richter would like to hold talks with the German and Czech labour ministers on the topic next month.
