Commemoration of 139 years since Štefánik’s birth

On Sunday, the 139 years since the birth of Milan Rastislav Štefánik was remembered in the village of Košariská, western Slovakia, where this Slovak statesman, diplomat and politician was born. The celebration started with a sermon in the local evangelical church, continued with the laying of wreaths in front of the house where he was born, visits to the local museum, a concert and an exhibition called General on the stage and a lecture related to it. The exhibition consists of plays by Slovak professional theatres inspired by Štefánik's life.
