Foreign Minister holds talks at UN General Assembly

Sharing acquired experience and strengthening the role of the General Assembly as the cornerstone of multilateralism were the topics discussed by Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajčák with partners in New York on Wednesday. There the head of Slovak diplomacy, and former UN General Assembly president, held talks with current assembly president María Fernando Espinosa Garcés as well as with the elected president of the upcoming 74th UN General Assembly, Tijan Muhammad-Band. In their talks, the partners also addressed issues of transparency, accountability and funding. In this regard, Minister Lajčák pointed out the need for a proactive approach in informing the public about the functioning of the UN Office and a meaningful dialogue with all actors.
