Slovaks may apply to post-Brexit EU Settlement Scheme

Slovaks who apply for the EU Settlement Scheme may be employed or registered as a self-employed person in the UK also after Brexit. "Citizens of the Slovak Republic who have applied for residence in the United Kingdom have the right to access the labour market without restriction," informs the Slovak Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs. At the moment, the deadline for applications is 30 June 2021. However, if an EU citizen moves to the UK after the country's departure from the EU (with or without an agreement), he/she can no longer enrol in the Settlement Scheme, nor do the rights deriving from this program apply. Nevertheless, after living in the UK for three months, Slovak people as EU citizens may apply for a temporary residence status, also after Brexit.
