Slovak Gabriela Ladičová won two silver medals in the women's U23 C1 category at the 2019 Junior and U23 Canoe Sprint European Championship in Račice, in the Czech Republic, on Sunday. She finished behind Anastasia Chetverikova of Ukraine in the 500-metre race, and behind Dorota Borowska of Poland in the 200-metre race. A Slovak quartet comprised of Samuel Baláž, Matúš Jedinák, Csaba Zalka and Adam Botek gained the silver medal in the men's U23 K4 category in the 500-metre race on Sunday. They lost by only a few thousandths of a second to the winning crew from Belarus. The Slovak team thus won a total of five medals in Račice - one gold and four silvers, all of them in the U23 category. On Saturday, the first day of the finals, Mariana Petrušová won the gold medal in the women's U23 K1 1000 metres A final. A silver medal for Slovakia was secured by Samuel Baláž and Adam Botek in the men's K2 1,000 metre race.
