The management of the Slovak branch of car makerVolkswagen has come to an agreement with trade unions on a new four-year collective agreement valid until August 31, 2023, said company spokesperson Lucia Kovarovic Makayova. It includes annual salary increases along with one-off flat payments of between €200-€350 for all VW SK employees. Meanwhile, the operational break has been extended by five paid minutes. The new collective agreement also guarantees employment for the next five years, which means that the company will not terminate work contracts for organisational reasons or redundancies. In order to preserve employment, flexibility tools agreed on in advance will come into play in justified situations, such as a shortened working week, or salary compensation in the case of an obstacle on the employer's part.
